Digital@Retail is our speciality
Digital Signage systems are proving to be the most cost effective and impactive way to establish a touch point with customers. These are passive systems used to quickly and simply convey your marketing message or information with no, or limited user interaction. These systems can be used for stand alone or networked displays to be deployed, locally, nationally or globally. If you need more, then interactive kiosks will fit the bill, and with our own system (i-Billboard) there are no limits to how sophisticated you can get, now it really is down to your imagination. Remember, ANQ provide a complete service solution for all your needs for Digital@Retail, so of you are not sure if what you are thinking is do-able just call us now for an informal chat on 01455 558003, drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or send an invite on linked in to Lee Gibson.
i-Billboard – the ultimate networked digital signage platform, only available direct to our solutions partners
Although ANQ are a service company focussed on creative design, web + applications development and digital hardware integration to the sector, we felt that something was missing. Not wanting to be a ‘me too’ consultancy, only able to offer what a third party delivery platform had to offer, however limiting that was to our partner’s and client’s vision, we decided to remove all limits and develop our own. not only that but a platform that beat all others with features such as….
i-Billboard, developed over a decade, is probably the most sophisticated, yet cost effective media enterprise solution available anywhere today. ANQ has been involved with Digital@Retail for over 2 decades. So whether you are a looking for a 'low cost of entry' cloud based system, a high end fully managed system with no limits or a fully bespoke one off application, we can help.
i-Billboard – low cost player hardware

We have various low cost players for you to choose from depending upon your project needs. From Android to PC based depending on your cost v performance v function requirements.
Add either of these to screens of your choice, 4”, 7”, 10” 42” or even a video wall, at any resolution up to full HD (now even 4K and 8K ultra HD with approriate multi output high power player), in either portrait or landscape orientation. Our players have been designed to be screen agnostic to ensure they are suitable for use in ANY display situation.
Prices start low per player ALL IN, NO COSTLY SUBSCRIPTION with our managed service and nothing else to pay apart from an optional support contract making it FAR cheaper than competitors cloud based platform once over a few tens of units installed, see here for cost comparison, just buy and plug into a display. The only way to go for small, medium and large scale deployments.
Managed - 'done for you’ and 'quick start self-service’ available.
As well as bespoke developments and creative content programming, ANQ is able to offer interactive digital signage deployments on a fully managed basis (via our i-Billboard Studio Pro system) or supply you with the tools to manage them yourself via our cloud based i-Billboard Studio Lite (coming soon).
Over the last ten years, in association with our American white label partner, ANQ has developed a unique system and a raft of stunning custom solutions for a wide range of brands. Please see below for a sample of the projects we have been proud to call our own. Sadly, some of our most recent, and therefore most innovative, are too current or sensitive to list here but are being deployed globally from New York to Moscow - London to Beijing.
The kiosk provided highly interactive information on the range of Bauer hockey sticks allowing the customer to identify the correct stick for their needs. The kiosk also allows for quick content changes to facilitate feature videos and new product launches, all from the single, centrally managed iBillboard studio.
The Bauer project required a remotely managed and updateable interactive kiosk to be developed with web based reporting of user metrics. The physical kiosk was designed by our US partners a major New York based POS company, whilst ANQ where responsible for the creative content design and development of a custom plug-in module to extend the functionality of our iBillboard DS platform to perform the specific functions Bauer required.
The kiosk was rolled out initially to 30 stores in the USA and 30 in Canada with the rollout and subsequent operation being trouble free due to the utilisation of our tried and tested iBillboard platform
One of our most sophisticated kiosk developments to date. This engine oil and air filter recommender for Exxon Mobil allowed customers to answer a few simple questions and receive the right oil and or air filter required for their car. This had to be very fast and needed to look up from a database containing over 30,000 engines.
Due to the nature of the constantly changing data this installation had to be remotely updated with new engine data and because of the complexity of the source database ANQ had to write specific web based tools to import, convert and then upload only changed data from the source.
Of course, the kiosk and the provided content also offer every opportunity to inform and sell through to the customer as well as re-enforce brand standing.
Aeropostale, a leading US Children’s retailer was looking for a unique system to entertain children in-store. ANQ was tasked with developing a bespoke custom module to extend the functionality of our i-Billboard system. The solution was a 6 foot mirror with integrated touch screen, integrated web cam, three additional display screens (two portrait and one landscape) and a 42” in window display. The system allows children to strike a pose and then within a couple of seconds three zany variations would be displayed on each of the satellite displays. All three images would be combined with the original and put into a shop window display sequence with previous ‘takes’.
The units are all networked (around 50 installs at the time of writing with rollouts on going) allowing them to be remotely updated and for user metrics to be collected from each unit. User metrics can be accessed via a web based metrics viewing and analysis tool and provide invaluable information.
Teutonia required a remotely updateable interactive kiosk to help and inform customers in-store. As well as performing a key roll having a digital browser for Teutonia products and helpful information regarding their use the main function of the kiosk was the ‘Stroller Configurator’. The configurator allowed the customer to work through a sequence of steps to define a custom stroller, built from the chassis and even allowing various optional accessories to be colour coded, leading to thousands of permutations.
Throughout this process a configurator receipt would be created which at the end would have all of the custom elements listed to be printed out and taken to the counter to place an order.
Two content programs developed simultaneously for two large departments within one of America’s leading sports outfitter chains, The Sports Authority. Both the golf and the fitness programs where designed to show of the best products and tips and tricks from top professionals in store. These programs also featured a browsable catalogue and a ‘find my product’ search system. Remotely updateable and feeding back customer metrics meant that these programs offered the best in long term return on investment.
BioTherm, a US cosmetics retailer needed a custom system developing called ‘The Wall of Fame’. ANQ was tasked via our US partners to extend the capabilities of the i-Billboard interactive kiosk system for custom play-out, with customer makeover images automatically inserted into the POS content program across three systems each with 42” plasma displays.
ANQ also developed a linked input station system to feed makeover information and live makeover photographs to the displays. In addition, the customer was automatically emailed, and could retrieve their previous makeover details from any store.
Utilising state of the art RFID Smart Shelf technology, this program was developed in conjunction with our US partners for Timberland on ANQ’s i-Billboard system.
In many instances we have created systems where UPC scanners scan a product bar code held to the unit by the consumer. With some products this is not possible, for example training shoes, as there is no bar code on the shoe itself. In the case of Timberland we used RFID radio tags inserted under the shoe insert. The shoes would sit on a smart shelf.
While on the shelf the tag would receive power by induction and our system would get the radio signal. If any shoe was lifted from the shelf the power would go off to the tag and by a process of deduction our programme would know which shoes was lifted and display the appropriate product information. A clever way to detect any product being lifted up for a closer look by the consumer.
Aramis required an interactive multilingual kiosk for in store use in various countries including the UK, USA, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Germany, Korea and Singapore. The core program was created and then regionalised by language and product mix. The program was developed by ANQ to run on its i-Billboard system.
Motorola required a sophisticated database driven, remotely updateable, content programme with integrated ‘Phone picker’. Highly dynamic, impactive visuals where the order of the day. The core system was multilingual, this was then re-branded and the product mix updated to accommodate various US phone operators including Verizon, Cingular, and T-Mobile. Running on ANQ’s i-Billboard system , this solution was deployed at 50 stores across the USA via our US partners.

In the run up to Super Bowl Sunday every January there is an interactive themed event erected alongside the Super Bowl stadium. This event, called 'The NFL Experience' is also an NFL merchandising event and as exclusive merchandisers, Footlocker wanted something a little different. Its visual consultants, VMI One Vision, decided to build two huge American football goals with the top half as projection screens. The program for these screens was to be a mix of NFL footage and spectacular custom created 3D graphics. ANQ created 3D sequences and then edited these into the video for the final program.
